From first inquiry to final gallery, I’m here to make this a relaxed, enjoyable, and memorable experience—for both you and your horse. Whether it’s your first time in front of the camera or your horse is a seasoned model, I’ll guide you every step of the way with patience, plenty of horse sense, and a few ear-perking tricks up my sleeve

What to Expect

 

1.Booking our Date

 

Once we've picked the perfect day for your shoot, I’ll send over your booking form and invoice. A retainer of 50% secures your spot on my calendar. The remaining balance is due the day of your session.

 

 

2.Planning your Dream Shoot

 

This is where we bring your vision to life! I’ll ask what you’re hoping to capture—think shot wish lists, favorite poses, and any special touches you want to include. Whether you’re dreaming of black background portraits or candid show coverage, we’ll build a session around what matters most to you.

 

 

3.The Big Day

 

Leading up to your shoot, I’ll check in to confirm timing and send over a prep guide to make sure you and your horse are ready to shine. Then it’s time for the best part—capturing your horse’s personality, elegance, and story.

Whether it's a private portrait session, a clinic, or show coverage, I’ll be right there with you, camera in hand and ears-perking tricks at the ready!

 

 

4.The Magic Happens Behind the Scenes

 

After your shoot, I go to work behind the scenes—carefully selecting and editing your images to bring out the absolute best.

Turnaround time depends on the session type, and I will give you an ETA once our shoot is complete.

Sales/Show images: Delivered quickly so you can use them right away.

Portrait sessions: Expect a longer turnaround so I can ensure every image is polished, timeless, and wall-worthy.

 

FAQ
This is my first photoshoot, what do I need to know?

You’re in good hands! I’ll guide you and your horse through the entire process from start to finish. I’ll send you prep materials ahead of time so you know exactly how to get ready, and I’ll walk you through everything on shoot day—from where to stand, to how to hold the lead, to getting those perfect ears-up moments. There’s no pressure to be perfect—we’re here to have fun and capture the heart of your horse.

What should I wear if I want to be in the photos?

Think timeless and comfortable. Neutral tones, simple textures, and clothes that don’t distract from your horse tend to work beautifully. Avoid bold logos or bright neon colors. If you’re not sure, I’m happy to help you choose!

When will I get my images?

Turnaround time depends on the type of session:

Sales and show images are typically delivered within a week.

Portrait sessions may take a few weeks so I can make sure each image is perfectly edited and curated.

I will send you some sneak peeks within a day of our shoot to tide you over ;)

My horse doesn’t stand still or pose… is that a problem?

Not at all! I’ve worked with hundreds of horses of all breeds, ages, and energy levels. I’ll guide them (and you) with patience and good humor—and I’ve got plenty of tricks to get their ears up and their best angles on display. We’ll get beautiful shots, I promise.

Can you photograph more than one horse?

Yes! In fact, I offer a multi-horse discount for more than three horses at the same location.

Do you do all of the editing yourself?

Yes! Every image you receive has been personally edited by me. I take great care with each photo to ensure it reflects both your horse’s beauty and my signature style—timeless, artistic, and true to life.

Can I request specific edits?

Absolutely. Whether you’re hoping for something artistic like a black background, a “mirror floor,” or want a minor detail cleaned up—just let me know! I’m happy to accommodate most requests whenever possible.

What if the weather is bad on our shoot day?

For portrait sessions, I’m always happy to reschedule if the weather isn’t ideal—your horse deserves the best light and conditions to look their best. That said, I’m also an all-weather show and clinic shooter, so if we're covering an event, I’ll be there rain or shine (with a raincoat and camera cover in tow!)
